IT WAS HELL FOR MAJORITY OF THE URBAN POPULATION AND WHICH LASTED FOR SEVERAL YEARS. ONE MUST KEEP IN MIND, THAT GERMANY LOST OVER 5 MILLION MEN DEAD AND IN SOVIET PRISON CAMPS-SO GERMANY HAD TO SEEK HELP TO REBUILD BY PURSUADING THE TURKS, ITALIANS, AND OTHERS TO RELOCATE ESPECIALLY TO BERLIN TO REBUILD-THATS REASON WHY THERE IS A HUGE TURKISH POPULATION IN BERLIN FOR EXAMPLE. ITS BECAUSE OF THE HORRORS THAT THE GERMAN PEOPLE EXPERIENCED DURING AND RIGHT AFTER THE WAR THAT THERE IS TODAY A STRONG PACIFIST SENTIMENT-NOBODY IN GERMANY NEVER AGAIN WANTS ANOTHER WAR!!!
