In WW1 and WW2 and Korea the U.S army used the M1903 Springfield in .30-06 (7.62x63). In Vietnam and today the U.S army uses the Remington 700 in .308 (7.62x51) known to the military as the M24. In this ongoing war the U.S army and Marines are using the M24, M14 in sniperised versions like the M21, M25, DMR, M39 and MK14. They also use designated marksmen versions of the M16. They also use large caliber rifles like the M82, M107 and special operations use the RC-50 and the AS-50. They also use the M86 in limited quantity.
