As the US was expanding into areas controlled by the Shawnee and other tribes, Tecumseh realized that they had a common cause with each other, and with the British who were at war with the US. Tecumseh's role was to rally these tribes and convince them to ally with the British against the US.

Tecumseh is a Shawnee chief, and his role was, "whites have taken upon themselves to say this and belongs to the Miamis, this to the Delawares and so on. But the Great Spirit intended Native American land to be the common property of all the tribes, and it cannot be sold without the consent of all."

Tecumseh's role was to be the Chief of the Shawnee nation, which helped fight against the US and fight alongside Britain. Tecumseh's partner was Isaac Brock a general, they both fought on the same side until Isaac died in October 181, early in the Battle of Queenston Heights. Tecumseh was an important part of the Britain/Canadian team in the war of 1812, without him people aren't sure whether Canada/Britain would have done as well as they did.
