viking woman had the most rights of any women in Europe at the time. they were born learning how to take care of the animals and weaving cloths for there family. this is my grade 11 role of womens part of my presintation.

Viking woman were married normally by family arrangement and between the ages of 13-16 and were in charge of the household when the man of the house was elsewhere.

They were in charge of the animals if they owned any as well as providing clothing for the whole family. They looked after all the meal making for the family.

Woman had more rights then any other woman in all of Europe.

They had the right to divorce their husband with a witness at the front door and at their bed. They were only permitted to divorce if they felt the man was not contributing enough or being to lazy, or if the man was harming her or her children. Woman could not take part in political affairs, it was strictly for the men.
