Ahoy, matey! A pirate is a swashbuckling scallywag who sails the high seas in search of treasure, while a raider is more of a landlubber who pillages and plunders on solid ground. So, in a nutshell, pirates are all about the sea life, while raiders prefer to stick to land-based shenanigans. Now, go forth and conquer, ye curious landlubber!

A raider Isn't necessarily a pirate, although it is a type of ship that is sent out like a pirate to attack ships passing by. A raider can be employed by any nation, for instance if England is at war with Spain and a Spanish vessel passes by an English raider, the English raider will attack it.

A pirate strikes at a ship from the shallows and returns, while a rover strikes in the open sea, mainly at shipping lanes.
