From the early 1900's -1950's and before the days of television, every kid played ball and every wood turning company made a Baseball bat, or so it seams, and as such, there are hundreds if not thousands of private label bats on the market.

The Comet Baseball bat company was a one man operation located in Homer New York. The work was done in the man's home, and barn. I have come across a few Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio bats

made under the Comet Bat label on eBay. They sell for about $40.-$60. in good condition. Bats in excellent condition or better might sell in the $50.-$100. price range.

The bulk of the value on most collectible baseball bats relies on player endorsements. Without a player endorsement, the value will rely on vintage baseball bat features such as a decal, or special features such as a mushroom knob, a ring bat, ornate engraving, etc. Without a player endorsement the Comet bat might sell in the $25. price range in excellent condition.

I will be listing bats made by private bat companies on my website in the near future. I will leave a link for information on vintage baseball bats below.
