In traditional native American culture a boy was sent naked into the woods for a week as a right of passage into manhood. More than likely he might have eaten some berries or ingested some wild mushrooms (this was a common occurance during the right of passage) and he was haluniciating and had visions of a bull sitting. Upon his return his visions were analized by the elders and this vision was considered important enough to become his "man's name"
