AFCM is the rate/rank acronym for a Master Chief Aircraft Maintenanceman. While there is no specific AF rating below Master Chief, the 3 Aviation Boatswain's Mate ratings ABE (Launching & Recovery), ABF (Fuels), and ABH (Aircraft Handling), all combine at the Master Chief (E-9) rank to form the overall AF rating, signifying supervision of all 3 Aviation Boatswain ratings.
