Most Koreans wore a form of hanbok in any occasion. Korean peasants were not very rich and they could only afford a few articles of clothing. They would usually sleep in the same clothes they go out in. The richer would keep a separate kind of hanbok for sleep called the "Jam-ot" (잠옷). Usually it is some sort of white cotton or silk hanbok. Jam-ot literally means "sleep clothes"
