If the Egyptians pleased the gods, they believed Egypt would prosper and that they would have a peaceful afterlife. If they, however, did not please the gods, Egypt would not prosper and in the afterlife, Osiris would not look kindly upon them and they will have a chaotic afterlife. Hope this helps!
