Modern Egypt is the same as ancient Egypt in the fact that a lot of the architecture that was built in ancient times, such as the pyramids, are there today. Another similarity is that it is still a highly religious place.
Since someone placed this answer in the "shopping" category, I will assume they meant to compare the shopping in ancient Egypt and ancient Greece.
The shopping in ancient Egypt was awesome, their open air marketplaces were home to merchants from all over the world. Even later on, when Egypt was reduced to being a client state of Rome, the shopping was still boss.
Greece, on the other hand, had masterful craftsmen, but each city state had its own specialty. For example, Thebes was renowned for its pottery. To enjoy a full selection, you had to walk all over Greece. Whew.
Religion in Ancient Egypt consisted of Catholicism and polytheistic beliefs. Today, Islam is a dominant religion in Modern Egypt and many Muslims live in the country.

There are absolutely NO similarities whatsoever, The differences are that Ancient chinese were obviously Far more advanced and devepoled, On the other hand Ancient muslims (Arabs) Couldn't even start a fire.
