The LRAD is a sound weapon. It uses sound waves at very high speeds to disorient and confuse targets. It is able to have sound directed in one direction. A person can stand directly behind it and not be hurt. However, someone standing in front of it can be hurt. If you are exposed to prolonged use, you can go deaf. It is capable of stopping anything man- controlled in its tracks.

What is a nuclear weapon's radius?

The radius of the device, or of the effects? Both vary dramatically from weapon to weapon. Physically bombs have been built with external case radii from 3 inches or less to as much as 10 feet. As to effects the blast radius for devices that have been built varies from about 0.1 mile to over 60 miles. Other effects give different radii for the same device.
