In World War Two the "Allied" Powers fought and defeated the "Axis" powers.
The major powers that led the "Allies" were France (later called the Free French), Great Britain (& Commonwealth nations), China, United States, and the Soviet Union. There were dozens of other Allied Powers that played various roles, such as Poland, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, Yugoslavia, and Greece.
The major "Axis" Powers were Germany, Italy, and Japan. I would add Vichy France to the list of major powers opposing the Allies. Also the Soviet Union helped the Axis from 1939 until 22 June 1941 when it was attacked by Germany & other minor Axis powers.
The three major allied countries are Britain, France and Russia. But other countries include USA, Abyssinia and Serbia. Although USA is not a major part of the 3 allied powers, it still plays a very important in victory of WWII.
The allied powers were by 1915, the United Kingdom (plus the entire British Empire and Commonwealth), France (plus its empire), Russia, Italy (which joined in 1915), Serbia, Montenegro and Japan.

The three major countries that made up the Axis Powers during World War II were Germany, Italy, and Japan. These nations formed an alliance based on their shared ideology and desire to expand their territories. Together, they posed a significant threat to the Allied Powers during the war.

During World War 2, there were thirty-two official countries listed as the Allied Powers. The chief Allied Powers were Great Britain, France, the Soviet Union, the United States and China.

the U.K, France, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Belgum, U.S.
The Allied Powers,or Great Britian,France,and the U.S.
At the start of the war, the major Allied Powers were the United Kingdom, France, and Russia. In 1915, Italy joined the Allied side as the fourth major power. However, early in 1918, Russia left the war because they suffered a pair of revolutions and the beginning of a civil war. In April 1917, the United States joined the war on the side of the Allies too, and finally started fighting around the time Russia left. So it is reasonable to say that the US replaced Russia in the Allied side even though that is an imprecise description.
Usually there is known to be three main countries in the Axis Powers. Germany, Italy and Japan are the major three they are also known as the Tri Axis. However there are more countries in theAxis Powers then just those three, there is Austria-Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria among others. The Axis Powers, isjust thetitleGermany and those allied with Germany gave themselves for World War Two, just like in World War One they were known as the Central Powers although in World War One these were not allthe same countries allied with Germany. Hope this helps!
There were no Central Powers in World War II. Two of the countries that made up the C.P. were gone before 1939. The two sides in World War II were the Allied Forces and the Axis Powers.
