I think one of the most important things to know if going to Germany is the weather. If you are going this time of year it is very cold so take warm clothing. I think early fall is the best there. It also rains a lot so take an umbrella. Next, know the Euro to dollar relationship so you know when you see a good exchange rate. Wear good walking shoes because you will be walking over cobblestone and without a good shoe your feet will hurt. Watch out for the beer it is stronger than in the States, but it is good. If you can attend a local beer fest they are a lot of fun. Don't ask for ice in your soft drinks because they won't give it to you and it also marks you as a tourist. Germany is a pretty safe conuntry but there are bad areas in each city try to find out where they are. There are people who will try to cheat you because you are a tourist. Have fun.

What are two things the treaty of Versailles forced Germany?

what were the things Germany had to do as stated in the treaty of Versailles

What was Germany's condition before the Treaty of Versailles?

East Germany was economically backwards and most of the population were desperately poor. add to this the administration of an authoritarian government and an inability to leave you can imagine that things were not to comfortable for the majority of the people.

What was it like living in Hitler's Germany?

living in Hitlers Germany was good but there was rules you was not allowed to say certain things or do certain stuff if you said one of these things you would be reeducated

Were Germany allowed to build up an army according to the treaty?

no. noone wanted Germany to be strong as they create bad things for the rest of the world. British were worried from the beganing (before world war one) because Germany were getting strong and made sure they kept an eye on them to make sure they weren't as strong as the British emperor. But ofcourse they (Germans) did get stronger

What are some things that could have been done to prevent World War 2?

The allies in WW1 were too stupid. The main cause of WW2 is the Treaty of Versailles. Germany was furious about it and wanted to get revenge. The allies could have and should have been more merciful to Germany. Germany wasn't the cause of WW1, all the countries involved should share the blame. If Germany were treated more fairly, maybe WW2 could have been prevented. Or the allies could have completely wiped Germany off the map(which I don't justify) and never give it chance to recover and fight back. I agree, the Treaty of Versailles should have granted fairer terms to Germany. Nevertheless, by the mid-30s Germany had already abrogated the treaty and was economically prospering. Once that juncture had been reached, the only thing the Allies could have done was to remain resolute in the face of ever increasing German demands, the French should have responded when the Germans entered the Rhineland and when Poland was invaded, the French, English and Belgians should have attacked Germany.
