1) There was a technological advance in a variety of inventions
2) Great Britain became the most powerful empire in the world, owning countries stretching through India, Canada, Africa, Australia etc.
3) More employment was available (branching on from point 1) due to so many factories being built. This is linking back to the Industrial Revolution.
