Indian Head Cents G4.......The word "LIBERTY" is not visible on the headband of the headress. VG8....At least 3 letters of "LIBERTY" are readable on the headband. F12.....The word "LIBERTY" is completely visible. VF20...Slight but even wear on the word "LIBERTY" on the headband. EF40...The word "LIBERTY" is sharp and defined. All other details of the design are sharp. There is only slight wear on the end of the ribbon of the headdress along the side of the neck. MS60....No trace of wear. Some nicks and light scratches may be present. The coin may or may not have mint luster. MS61 - MS70.....No trace of wear. With each higher grade the coin will have fewer nicks and light scratches. At MS70 the coin is perfect with no wear, no nicks, no scratches.
