If by Vikings you mean Norsemen. Never. People today are descendant from the Viking Norsemen (Norwegians, Swedes, Danes, Icelanders, some Irish and Brits and their colonials). The occupation of Viking, meaning raider, warrior, explorer and merchant diminished around the 11 century AD, coincidentally around the time Christianity infected Scandinavia.
