There really wasn't much music in Colonial America. Struggling to stay alive, they had little time for entertainment. However, this would have been the baroque era of music in European art styles. Baroque music was very ornamented and sounded very grand. Since it mainly employed an orchestra or a choir of trained voices, it simply wasn't found in the New World.

"The Roman Catholic Church was known to have castrated their choir boys to preserve the prepubescent voices but that action died out in the 1800's i would think the same could be said about the Vienna boys choir. " The church never castrated anyone, it was an offense punishable by excommunication and performed by people who kept quiet about it. The church was happy to employ castrati in its choirs and the last one retired as head of the Cistine Chapel choir in about 1913. The unified Italian state made it illegal in 1870 and pope Leo xiii formally banned it eight years later. Sadly this wouldn't seem to have been an end to a long tradition of harm to boys. The high voices of the Vienna Boys Choir are perfectly natural, the clue is in the title; boys.
Boys who were castrated at puberty so that their voices would remain in a high singing register
It is a piece originating from the Baroque era, containing 3 or more voices.
There are no instruments in a choir. Choir is made up of voices singing together. Though a piano is most often used to help teach choirs their music and section parts, and can accompany the choirs when performing.
Most often choirs consist of four sections intended to sing in four part harmony, but there is no limit to the number of possible parts as long as there is a singer available to sing the part. Choirs can be categorized by the voices: Mixed choirs (i.e., with male and female voices). This is perhaps the most common type, usually consisting of soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices, often abbreviated as SATB. Often one or more voices is divided into two, e.g., SSAATTBB, where each voice is divided into two parts, and SATBSATB, where the choir is divided into two semi-independent four-part choirs. Occasionally baritone voice is also used (e.g., SATBarB), often sung by the higher basses. In smaller choirs with fewer men, SAB, or Soprano, Alto, and Baritone arrangements allow the few men to share the role of both the tenor and bass in a single part. Male choirs, with the same SATB voicing as mixed choirs, but with boys singing the upper part (often called treble or boy soprano) and men singing alto (in falsetto), also known as countertenor. This format is typical of the British cathedral choir. Female choirs, usually consisting of soprano and alto voices, two parts in each, often abbreviated as SSAA, or as soprano, soprano II, and alto, abbreviated SSA Men's choirs, usually consisting of two tenors, baritone, and bass, often abbreviated as TTBB (or ATBB if the upper part sings falsetto in alto range like barbershop music, even though this notation is not normally used in barbershop music). Occasionally, a men's choir will have Basso Profondo, the lowest of all male vocal ranges. Children's choirs, often two-part SA or three-part SSA, sometimes more voices. This includes boys' choirs.

A-Capella means to sing without the accompaniment of musical instruments or to use your voice as the instrument. An example would be choirs that use only their voices to make amazing music.
Singers can preserve their voices by doing vocal excecises, drinking herbal teas, etc... Good general health and nutrition, adequate rest , and vocal exercises are most important. And no straining , breathe from your diaphragm, not your lungs. If you do not have good breath control, and force a high note , you will strain your vocal cords.
Males do not have soprano voices unless they have no testosterone. This means that only young boys can sing soprano. At one time, boys with particularly talented voices would be castrated so that they could continue to sing soprano. These were known as castradi.
George Frederic Handel is a German composer in Baroque period. Handel was born in 1685 and died in England at age 74 (1759). He was popular as a composer for operas, concerti-grossi and oratorios and as an organist. Two of his widely known works are Messiah (oratorio for solo voices, chorus and baroque orchestra) and Passacaglia in G minor (from his keyboard suite no 7).
At one time boys with "good" voices sang treble parts in choirs until their voices changed and got lower in pitch, (some boys still sing treble in choirs etc). In Elizabethan England the parts of women in plays were acted by boys, as it wasn't thought seemly for woman to appear on stage. So, in the original production of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Julliette," Juliette was actually played by a "beardless boy," a boy who hadn't gone through puberty. If you are asking something else could you rephrase the question so that it is more obvious exactly what it is that wish to know?
