In order for something to be successful, it has to have goals. The only goals of the Iraq War that are clear were to get Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and to create a democracy. There were no weapons of mass destruction and Iraq is not necessarily a democracy. Additionally hundreds of thousands of Iraqis died and a few thousand coalition soldiers died.

It would seem like the Iraq War was not successful.
