Yes, he couldn't help but to promote young, hendsome men as generals and some say he was their first love. He wrote some of them love letters saying how much he aprecciated their love and faith in him, but more relationships were one sided, seeing how some had a close relationship with him when they were young but as he grew older he started losing trust in them and became cold to his ˝old friends˝. Some men (his painter Gros and one of his generals Junot) have even commited suicide becouse of Napoleon. I reccomend the book Napoleonic Friendship by B.J.
