No, he was a good king who wanted nothing but the best for his people. The fact that his great grandfather Louis XIV and his grandfather Louis XV left France bankrupt when he entered the throne did not make thing easy for him. He was gentle and did not want his army to use any violence against his "good people" when they threatened with revolution.

He was very kind, shy and had a warm heart, He wanted nothing but the best for the French, was a good husband to Marie Antoinette and was a good father to his children. Together with Marie Antoinette he also opened shelters for the poor and orphanages and donated a lot of money to good causes.
