The B. F. Huntley Furniture Company was organized in 1906, through the acquisition of the Oakland Furniture Company(founded in 1898). Later, the Huntley firm also purchased Winston Desk Company in 1909 and Forsyth Furniture Company in 1920. James S. Lynch Sr.acquired the business in 1935. Fire destroyed the Huntley plant on Valentine's Day 1956, but the facility was rebuilt and showed samples at the October furniture market that year. Huntley merged with Thomasville Chair Company in 1961, and the firm became Thomasville Furniture Industries.
