Libya is a bit out the realm of major world events. Nations that are closer to the Suez Canal (read Southwest Asia aka Middle East) see most of the conflicts (read Israel, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, etc.). Libya borders the Mediterranean Sea, and there may have been some "kidnappings, robberies, etc." (romantically called pirating by the newspaper people...gotta sell those papers!); which drew in US response's with military force. Lebanon, which is closer to Syria and has definitely seen some action, when ever the "middle east" erupts (which used to be routinely during the 1960s/70s) might sometimes be confused with Libya...for people who don't follow world events.
No. For centuries before and during ww2 Japan had always been imperialists.
Yes, during World War 2 Mexico fought against Japan during the Philippines campaign on the Pacific.
Yes, President George W. Bush met Muammar Gaddafi during a brief encounter in 2008. The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, marking a significant moment in U.S.-Libya relations. This was notable as it represented a thawing of relations after years of hostility, with Libya having previously been designated as a state sponsor of terrorism.
No he wasn't. He never make it to Alexandria and Oman is far beyond form there.
It was occupied by Britain in WW1 and didn't do much, but in WW2 Libya was invaded by the Central Powers who were subsequently defeated by Australian forces. Tripoli was the focal point of the campaign where there was an epic showdown between the Australians and the brutal German commander Rommel. Rommel suffered his first ever defeat at the hands of the Australians after a legendary military career. This kind of destroyed German and Italian morale on the Southern Front.
Has libya ever been in war.

Hawaii was/is part of the US (since 1898); Afghanistan was hardly ever mentioned in the news during the cold war days, neither was Libya; Vietnam was enough news for the world at that time.

The Lybian constitution does not have a time limit on presidency. Kaddafi is the only "President" Libya has ever had. Prior to him Libya was rules by a king.

On December 24, 1951 Libya gained its independence from Italy. They won their Independence after World War 2. They were allies with Italy and fought with them to the very end. Then Italy decided, since they were a major help during the war, to give them their independence. King Idris led the push for independence for Libya. Then Libya discovered a large Oil Reserve and petroleum, so Libya then became a rich country, but it was still a monarchy so the money went to King Idris and the royal families.
