Elvis was a unique individual in many ways, but not unique in others. Mom had told me that Elvis was Native American, but it is difficult to really, truley know becuase he came into this world when acknowledging our Native Ancestory was on the DL because it was embarassing to state this. Mom, a tribal member from the Flathead reservation in Montana, worked tirelessly for her tribe. She had an ability of knowing things Native American that so many people did not. She said that the Missouri Natives were hit pretty hard by colonization and scattered into obscurity and/or isolated bands around the state. Elvis was born into poverty, and raised by a single mother. Though I do not truely know if Elvis was Native American, but I would be willing to bet that he was. Why? Because mother sais so.
For the love of God, ELVIS DID NOT BELONG TO ANY INDIAN TRIBE. hIS MOTHER was Gladys Love Presley, and his father was Vernon Presley. Elvis was born in Tupelo, and he and his parents moved to Memphis when Elvis was young. He finished high school in Memphis. On his own, he began going to Sun Records with the idea of recording some songs for his mother, but while at Sun he met Col Tom Parker, who became his mentor and manager for several decades. Col Parker took Elvis to RCA instead, where Elvis recorded Heartbreak Hotel in 1957, and the rest is history. Elvis was handsome, had great rhythm, and a sexy stage presence, and a powerful voice that would knock your socks off. He was the greatest entertainer of the 20th century and his reputation will probably last as the best throughout this century, also. When Elvis wore his white jump suit, no eye was away from him. He married Priscilla Beaulieu, whom he called Cilla, and they had one daughter, Lisa Marie, who looks like Elvis. Lisa Marie married actor Nicholas Gage, although they are not still married. When Elvis performed his last concert from Hawaii, which went by satellite all over the world, he looked his best and sang his best. He included five extra songs for distribution in the US. He died on August 16,
1977, at his home at Graceland in Memphis, at age 42. The latest account of his death was that his doctor was giving him prescription medication, but that he was not taking it as prescribed because it was confusing with so many different bottles of medication, and on the day he died he took too many of one of the capsules. On the day of his death, flowers flowed in from all over the United States. We have lost a great entertainer in Elvis, and many of us still miss him. Goodbye, Elvis, no entertainer has ever compared with your skills, looks, voice and abilities.
Yes! Elvis Had a Native American Blood . Cherokee was his ggg grandmother Morning Dove on his mother side. And Yes Elvis obviously look Native American more than white and not only look. His voice, character also. How Elvis feels the beat I think Cherokee blood strongly impact his life and look. Moreover, Elvis's maternal grandparents, Octavia (Doll) Smith and Robert Lee Smith were first- cousins, both descending from his Cherokee ancestor. Thus, this doubling of the family lineage would also have doubled his Native American "blood quotient".
