He wasn't exactly a spy, but he did act as a sort of counteragent. During the Revolutionary War, he was America's ambassador to France. The French didn't like the British. The US was still 'battling' the British. Franklin persuaded the French to supply money to help us fight the Brits.

Actually and amazingly he was....he would pass these letters or something between ppl and they would like get all cofused but the best way to no what im talking about is to go to the Spy Museum in Washington D.C..

He was certainly involved in the American Revolution. Whether that makes him a patriot or a traitor to the King kind of depends on which side of the political fence you were on.

Yes, Benjamin Franklin WAS accused of treason. He was involved in the Boston Tea Party, while he was supposed to be on the British side.
