No. Alexander Hamilton was born on the Isle of Nevis in the West Indies and emigrated to America when he was 17 years old. Hamilton lived in New Jersey while attending Elizabethtown Academy, a college prep school, in 1772. He may have remained there if the College of New Jersey (now Princeton) had agreed to his plan of accelerated study so he could graduate and begin work more quickly. Princeton declined, but King's College (now Columbia University), in New York, accepted his proposal.

Hamilton lived in New York until his death as the result of a duel with Aaron Burr in 1804.
