Lower enlisted junior enlisted by rank (pvt, pfc or spc) nco is not a grade. E-1 thru E-9 are grades
You should be in the pay grade of E-5 thru E-7 (enlisted) and officer any grade. E-7 and above are Senior Non-Commissioned Officers not E-6s in the Army.
No. No Warrant Officer is a field grade officer. Actually a CW4 receives the same priviledges as a field grade officer. My husband is a CW4 and when applying for on post housing, we can not be placed in company grade house, it must be field grade. It is the same for w4 and w5.
WO2 (Warrant Officer 2nd Grade) - WO1 (Warrant Officer 1st Grade) - CWO (Chief Warrant Officer).

Specialist is a rank - Pay Grade E-4 - which is classed as lower enlisted. Pay is equal to that of a Corporal, but Corporal is the higher rank of the two (Corporal is a noncommissioned officer rank, Specialist is not).
