The UNIVAC I (UNIVersal Automatic Computer I) was the first commercial computer produced in the United States. It was also the name of a business unit and division of the Remington Rand company formed by the 1950 purchase of the Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corporation.

The main first generation UNIVAC computers were:

  • UNIVAC I
  • UNIVAC 1101
  • UNIVAC 1102 (only 3 built to control & collect data on a windtunnel)
  • UNIVAC 1103
  • UNIVAC II
  • UNIVAC 1105

Other machines like the UNIVAC 1104 were built just for the military and the predecessor of the NSA, many were classified and we may never learn about those.
