If an authentic signature of Julius Caesar were found today it would be priceless. Museums , private collectors, schools, historians would all go bananas trying to outbid each other for possession. It would either be the property of whatever country it was found in or of the university that sponsored the research.( I don't know how they determine ownership of an artifact.) But at any rate, if the autograph were up for sale, the bidding would go sky high.

In 1977, Charles Hamilton estimated that Julius Caesar's autograph would fetch $2,000,000 at auction. Today, it would likely be worth between $10 million and $50 million.
