There were about 170 Egyptian Kings/Queens. About 63 King/Queen tombs have been found in the Valley of the Kings (through 2020). Other underground tombs not in the Valley of the Kings are still being found but whether there are Egyptian Kings/Queens entombed elsewhere is still being researched. A recent discovery, for example, may very well be the tomb of Cleopatra. It is located 60 miles from Cairo and 30 miles from Alexandria. This indicates that there may be royalty tombs outside the Valley of the Kings. Whether pyramids were built as tombs or monuments is still being debated. Temples near pyramids often have many underground tunnels and burial chambers, but this is outside the pyramids proper. Well over 100 pyramids exist in Egypt. The three large pyramids at Giza are the largest Egyptian pyramids. At least, the largest found so far. The Valley of the Kings is just north of Luxor over 200 miles south of Cairo. Alexandria is on the Mediterranian Sea.
