Well, I think the most relevant answer to this question is communication. In the world today, "quick" and "easy" communication is highly valued; hence most of the technology of today. Research has become as easy as typing your question and finding your answer [look at this very situation.] Also, social networking; HUGE plus... right? I mean, interested in someone? Search them, find their page, learn about their favorite music, movies, activities, hobbies, not to mention their IQ [do they spell out words, or abbreviate (ex: LOL)] learn what they do on weekends, weekdays, when they're bored [You can even get visuals! (How many people on facebook and myspace have more than 100 pictures of themselves? Alot.) ] But besides the helpful internet, what about programs? How many people you know have a Microsoft progam? Uhh... EVERYONE. Bad penmanship? Doesn't matter. Type whatever you like up in Word and print. Viola. Really, everything seems to be at the click of your mouse.
So sure, those are some ways the computer makes like easier... but despite the efficiency of such intense technology, the real question is "is this good?"
Just think about how accessible all this is to an average person. Imagine how accessible it is to the government or the people who create this stuff. Imagine how accessible all the information about ourselves and our lives that we put out there to share is to those people. Scary.

Computers makes work faster and easier by performing difficult math calculations almost instantaneously. Computers also help a great deal with document management as there is no longer a need to type multiple copies of the same letter or to retype a whole page when modifications are required. They also allow us to communication with colleagues without leaving our desks.
Well, I don't know about you but computers make an independent life possible for me. I have a tremor that makes it impossible for me to write anything readable. I use computers to write all my checks online, maintain a budget, do my tax returns online, write letters, address envelopes and packages, order products, etc. Without computers I would need a daily personal attendant to do all these tasks for me! In all probability I would have to live in an assisted care facility instead of in my own private apartment.
Now and then I get a form that is on paper and cannot be done on my computer, but I can write the information for the form with a text editor on my computer, print it out, then take both to a friend to have them fill the form in for me. But this happens only 3 to 5 times in a year.
