Electricity does pollution in many ways. It begins pollution at the very beginning when produced in thermal power stations.Electricity doesn't pollute directly, it helps other machines to pollute. For eg: Eletricity is used for many appliances, which may malfunction and catch fire, leading into many other problems. Electricity is one of the cleanest sources of energy. But making the electricity can cause many pollutions. A common method of generating electricity is to burl fossil fuels. Burning fossil fuels can cause pollution, but not the electricity. But wasting electricity can lead to burn more fossil fuels to generate it. In small scale, electricity is obtained by chemical reactions in non rechargeable cells. These cells contains Murcury, cadmium and various pollutents. Even in the rechargeable cells when they are inally dumped can cause a huge damage to the environment. But there are various clean methods of generating electricity without the pollution. Generating electricity with fallig water or hydro electricity is one of the clean ways of generating electricity. This is the majour source of electricity used in Sri Lanka. The initial cost is heigher; but in long run, it needs nothing but constantly falling water. Solar cells are also a clean source of electricity. This is good for small scale electricity requirements. Costs a lot, but good in long run. Needs little maintainance and no fuel but Sun Shine.
magneto
Yes, they can. If a dam is placed across the river, falling water over the dam can drive turbines which produce electricity.
Yeesss he did! :)
they dont potatos do because of the sodium cloride
The Aswan Dam was built in 1956 to control the Nile River floods and produce electricity. Before the dams were built, the Nile River flooded every year during late summer, when water flowed down the valley from its East African drainage basin.
it doesn't, but fossil fuels used to produce electricity do
No. Construction equipment used to build the station will burn fossil fuels and produce some pollution. When the station is complete it will produce pollution free electricity. The station will require some electric power from the grid to operate, and some of that electricity may be produced by coal powered plants which do produce pollution, but the geothermal power station will not produce pollution.
Of course! It produces smoke and then it pollutes the air.
They do not produce waste products that cause pollution.
Wave energy itself does not produce pollution during electricity generation. However, the manufacturing and installation of wave energy devices can have environmental impacts associated with the production of materials and transportation.
No. It relies totally on the potential energy of a raised body of water. You could argue that the turbines and generators used polluting energy to produce them, or the building of the power house and dams. Once set up, there is no futher pollution caused in generating electricity.
Many business all round the world make solar panels. They are made because they produce electricity at no cost, and no pollution.
Batteries do not produce electricity, they only store electricity.
Depends on where you get the electricity to recharge the batteries. If the electricity is produced in a hydro-electric plant then there is almost no pollution. If the electricity comes from a nuclear power plant then you have nuclear waste. If the electricity comes from a coal-fired plant that you do have pollution from the burning of coal.
Photovoltaic solar cells produce electricity using solar power. Since their energy comes from the sun, they do not produce any pollution. This makes them environmentally friendly.
generators produce electricity via electromagnetic induction
Well, Many things can produce electricity. An easy way to produce electricity is to get a coil and pass a bar magnet through it.
