Crosman owns Benjamin and usually has owners manuals on-line for most all their airguns. Unfortunately they do not have one for the 317 but I found one for the 340 which I believe is about the same loading procedure, (See the link below. ) Also the rifle came in one of two size pellets .177 and .22 Caliber. Yours could be a .22 caliber pellet. Remember to cock it before you try to pump it and never pump it more than 10 times.
It was made in 1961
The Benjamin model 312 was part of the 310 series of rifles that included 310, 312, and 317. They came in .177 and .22 caliber. Production started with the model 310 in 1940 and ended with the model 317 in 1969, the 312 fell somewhere in the middle of that time period
Benjamin made a 137 pistol not a 137 rifle. They did make a 317 rifle, is this what you are asking about? The pistol model 137 was made between 1946-85 the rifle model 317 was made between 1940-1969
You don't find pellets for the Benjamin model 310 because it is designed to shoot BB's only, not pellets. The model 312 shot .22 caliber pellets and the model 317 shot .177 caliber pellets but the 310 only shot BB's.
The 312 was part of a series (310 series) of rifles produced between 1940-1969. The name Benjamin Franklin was a marketing gimmick to help sell the rifle. Franklin had nothing to do with it. The series included the model 310, 312 and 317. Please state the current condition of the rifle to get an estimate of value. Is it still working? Is it in Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent condition. Re-post you question with this information and I will try to give you an estimate of value. Make sure you put the question in the "Air gun and Air rifle" category.
It was made in 1961
Today Crosman owns Benjamin. see the link below for the dates of manufacture.
What condition is it in, That determines the value. BTW they all had Brass Barrels.

In order to give you an answer, you need to give it some sort of rating like Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent condition, without that information, I can not answer you.
