He died from old age. After he ran away because Mr. tussle had him escape from the secret annex, he came back after he thought it was quiet and safe to come back, Miep saw him and gave him to a nice family that she trusted and knew they would do the best they could for him. He died at 19 in cat years or 92 in human years. :(
Well he was trying to attack the guards with his claws as they were taking Peter away and then the guard like picked him up and threw him out the window but mouschi was to skilled for him and he climbed back up the wall and pounced on his head (he was secretly a ninja) but then he saw a salmon truck drive by and he chased it...then he got ran over by a bike and the boy took him home and ate him with green beans...): he was 112 when he was eaten
Mouschi was Peter Van Daans cat. Mouschi was a stray cat that Peter found and adopted. Mouschi ran away during the night.

Mouschi (Peter's cat) disappeared when the Gestapo came, and re-appeared about two weeks later. Miep Gies took care of it for the rest of the war.
"Special" is a very debatable word choice. Explicitly against the instructions agreed upon by both families, Peter brought his cat Mouschi into hiding - and Mouschi caused a number of problems himself for those in hiding.

Mouschi, the cat in "The Diary of Anne Frank," disappears before the Frank family is arrested. It is unclear what happened to Mouschi, but it is presumed that the cat may have left the Secret Annex or met an unfortunate fate during the war.
Mr. van Daan dislikes Mouschi because he feels the cat is a burden and consumes valuable food resources. Mrs. van Daan, on the other hand, is attached to Mouschi and sees him as a source of comfort in their confined living space. This disagreement over the cat reflects deeper tensions and differing priorities between the couple.
"Mouschi" was the name of Anne Frank's cat during World War II when she and her family were hiding from the Nazis. Mouschi was a beloved pet and provided comfort to Anne during their time in hiding.
Peter van Daan enjoyed reading books, especially history and geography. He also liked to draw and enjoyed spending time alone in his room.

Actually, Mr. Van Daan threw Mouschi (Peter's cat) out because there was too little food for everyone and a cat. Nobody knows where Mouschi went after that. This is untrue. Today I wrote to Miep Gies (she is alive and 100 now). She wrote back: Peter's cat did run way because of all the people but came back when all was quiet again. Elli and I kept it on the premises and saw to it's well being. Best Regards, Miep Gies. An email to treasure!
