Cars and airplanes are vehicles. Both have engines, but an airplane's engine is bigger and more powerful. While a car is usually a personal possession or somewhat readily available to pick you up and take you somewhere, an airplane is on a schedule and you must travel to an airport to board a plane taking you where you want to go. You must also purchase a ticket and go through security screening to board an airplane.
