Yes! You most certainly can freeze a cockroach to death. In fact, in the winter one way to get rid of roaches is to turn off the water main and drain your pipes to prevent the pipes from bursting and then turn off all the heat sources. If the temperature remains under 28 degrees F for 12 hours or longer you will kill off most if not all roaches inside.
Of course, this is a non chemical control method that will not always be 100% effective. You may wish to augment this procedure with the use of roach baits containing fipronil and a crack and crevice treatment using a spray that includes permithrin and an insect growth regulator. This is especially important in multi-unit dwellings, duplexes and townhomes.
