In African traditional religion, the attributes of God are often seen as all-knowing, all-powerful, and present everywhere. God is believed to be a loving and caring creator who is deeply connected to all living beings and the natural world. This understanding of God provides a sense of comfort, guidance, and unity within the community.
In African traditional religions, the attributes of God vary across different cultures and belief systems. However, common attributes include omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience. God is often seen as the creator of the universe, the source of all life, and the ultimate judge of human actions. Additionally, God is believed to be a spiritual force that interacts with humanity through intermediaries such as ancestors or spirits.
Is it prejudice or ignorance that only the Europeanized version of Christianity which was stolen from the Coptic Religion in 325A.D. be justified as a Religion? I have lived in Africa(Kenya and South Africa)since 1951. The answer is both. it is natural because every one has been given the conscousness of a God. Now whether it is the true God I will not debate that now. So everyone in the world has this inner knowledge of God. you might call this "natural". A person can deny it or suppress this truth but a person has the ability to do this. African Traditional Religions (ATR) are a real religion. It gets very complicated. They have a definite concept of God. This affects their relationships to other people and how they view themselves and the world around them. There needs to be an explanation about the meaning of "theology" Theology is a word that is divided up into two parts "theo" and "ology" ology is the standard form for the meaning of "the study of" Thus biology the study (corrected) organisms, zoology the study of animals. When we come to "theology" the first part "theo" comes from the Greek word "theos" which means God. So rightly understood theology is the study of God. All religions on this planet are ideological, theology is the study of religions._ which God/Allah/Tao/Buddah incoherently is referenced to the meaning of religion. the word god is a sub category of religion. ology is the "study of" as correctly stated, which refers to analytic information, Gods in general are spiritual, and cannot be studied since therefore have no physical form. hence why theology is the study of religions. == ==

From the lighter side(!);My very young son once said, " Some African people thought missionaries were very tasty and boiled them before eating. "Most of the Africans who don't have any faith in GOD but who still believe in statues do not accept the missionaries and they kill them or eat them as they think it is legal and fair to punish them in this way...In most of the Africans countries,it is not accepted to preach because it is illegal to preach the name of JESUS which is not the formal religion of the African countries because the formal religion of the African countries is the Islam religion...but it is always depending on the country itself...we should respect the laws and the regulations of all the countries

The category of African indigenous religion refers to cultural, religious or spiritual manifestations indigeneous to the continent of Africa. There are arguably several religions in this category. Traditional African religions involve teachings, practices, and rituals that lend structure to the African native societies. Traditional African societies reflect local conceptions of God, the Gods (if the cultures are polytheistic or henotheistic), and the cosmos. Even within single communities there may be slightly different perceptions. African traditionalists almost always acknowledge the existence of a high God or demiurge who created the universe (Shango, Olorun, etc.) Many traditional African stories speak of how God or God's son once lived among the people, but as humans did something to give offense to God, God withdrew to the heavens. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_traditional_religion
