That is true. But keep in mind that Borax is not labled for use in a swimming pool. I know it is a technicality, but if someone gets sick and they sue ... well, better to stick to the labeled directions.

Technically, the current label lists it as 99.5% Sodium Biborate Pentahydrate. The chemicals are similar to be sure, however they are not entirely interchangeable. Best to stick with the labeled use.
