In theory losing weight should be an easy thing to do. All you have to do is burn more calories than you eat in each day. The faster that you do this the more weight you will lose. In theory it is simple. But anyone who has ever tried to do it out in the real world knows that there are a million ways that it can go wrong. You could exercise too little. You could eat too much, even when you think that you are doing well. You could get sucked into a fad diet that may be popular but does not work.

But you are more than likely not interested in all the things that could happen. You are interested in you. Where did you go wrong? What can you do about that in the future? Today we are going to try and answer those questions. That way you can get more out of your weight loss efforts going forward from this point.

Record

If you are not already keeping an accurate record of what you are putting into your mouth and how much exercise you are doing, then you need to start right now. Use an app, write it on a piece of paper, or email it to yourself; it does not matter how you do it. Just keep an accurate record of what goes in and out. If you already have that you are ahead of the game.

Analyze Your Current Actions

Now you should be able to see what is going wrong. Are you not moving enough? Are you putting too many calories into your mouth each day? Go deeper than that if the solution is not obvious. Maybe you're great when your time is your own, but you do badly on work nights when the drive thru temptation is at its peek. Figure out what is going wrong and you will be on the track to success.

Come Up with A Plan of Action

Now that you have identified the problem you are going to bring your creative thinking to the table. You have to figure out how to slay the dragon. Maybe work night dinner issues can be fixed with the freezer, or the use of a croc pot. No matter what it is you should be able to find a solution to the problem.

Implement It

Now make it happen. Book the time in your planner, begin cooking early, or do whatever else you have to in order to get from a plan of action to the actual actions. This is, as you may have guessed, the hardest part of the process. You are going to have to work on this hard and make it your priority. Don’t be afraid to be creative when it comes to creating your solutions.

There you have it, you've gone from a problem to a solution without having to tear your hair out in order to do it.
