If your son is truly taking his suboxone, he would not get high from Heroin so there would be o reason to do both. Suboxone has 2 medications in it, one that blocks many of the receptors that are aroused when we use opiates. the other is an opiate....the two medications fool the bran into believing it is getting its fix with out the patient feeling "high". I am not a Medical professional, I also am a recovering addict taking suboxone to help relieve me from the severe cravings that come after you stop taking opiates and also to treat Back pain that i sustained in a work related injury.

As a recovering addict, I was prescribed to suboxone and was DEFINETLY still using heroin. I would sell most of them but keep a few for the days i couldn't afford heroin or couldn't get my butt out of the house, so either way i wasnt hurting. either i had my drug, or i had suboxone. home drug test, or administer the pills and do like a treatment center, make him put it under his tongue, then make him lift it to make sure its gone. you can still get high after using suboxone, but its almost pointless, takes alot more heroin, alot more money.
yes you can use it, will you get high no. at best you will feel a 10 second rush, the reason for this is. suboxone has a very long half-life longer then almost all other opiates so even after taking an 8mg dose for example it will still be in your opiod receptors up to 2 later. so my advice to you, if you are on suboxone and you like to take vacations (getting high 1 or 2 days) wait atleeast 3 days after your last sub dose. goodluck

Sure you can...if you wanna detox at least 5-7 days from the subs...get high on the dope..maybe...and then have to wait 36-48 hours to take a suboxone again...Ive been on suboxone for 3 years now...when you flip flop between the two it usually just makes you sick...plus you have to be in withdrawl from one drug to take the other...and with suboxone...you feel sick 4-5 days before its even out of your system...They devised the drug like that purposefully to reduce abuse...Pick one or the other...Personally...i choose suboxone..

No, but the Buprenorphine will probly keep that heroin from feeling worth it. If your taking Suboxone and your still putting a needle in your arm you have more worries than hives around the injection site. . .I agree, but would also just like to add that heroin in general can often times cause hives around the injection site. I could never figure out if it was the type pf Heroin, where it was injected, did some leak out around the vein etc. I do know that opiates cause a general raise in hystamine levels which cause hives.

Depending on how high your dose of methadone is. If your on a low dose, yes you can. If your on a high dose than you would need to do more heroin but the high only lasts a few minutes, therefore being a waste of money. IMO

Well, being a recovering heroin and opiate addict, Methadone treatment hasn't deterred me at all, but just substitued a drug for the time being, I am however currently on the suboxone program, a month in, and doing great, I still get cravings and urges, but outpatient therapy has helped alot with dealing those problems. I would recommend suboxone, Ive called many rehabs, and been turned away because, I wasnt an "emergency". So not for me, but im sure has worked for other ppl.
