On coming to work today (I work in a residential home) I noticed a small cut on my finger, and it just wouldn't stop bleeding. Our cook told me that black pepper would stop the bleeding very quickly. I was afraid it would sting a bit (like salt etc. would) but she assured me it wouldn't. So I tried it - and I was really surprised it worked! Within one or two minutes of sprinkling some pepper on it (it had to properly cover the cut though, not just a few specks of it) the bleeding had stopped and the blood had clotted.

I had never heard of this before, so wanted to look up on the internet if others had some experience with this, and found this page - yes, it does work :-)
