For Strattera, yes (assuming a test exists).

But the metabolites (i.e., 4-hydroxyatomoxetine) aren't at all the same for drugs of abuse, so no, it shouldn't.

I wouldn't imagine it would, because drug tests only find the specific drugs they are looking for. Strattera is not related to any of the drugs tested for, so it should not show up. I would tell the person taking your urine sample that you are on it (and any other prescription medications) just in case.

(incorrect)Yes it does. It will show positive results for amphetamines and methamphetamines. I do not know why but it has many times for me and I have never in my life taken any type of meth or regular amphetamines. (incorrect)Strattera is not the same as drugs like Adderall and Ritalin which will show up positive for amphetamines. But it works on the same neurotransmitter, norepinephrine, as the anti-depressant Effexor, which has shown up on drug tests as PCP. Being that they are both chemically different drugs, working on norepinephrine in different ways, I would assume that Strattera would not show up for PCP. All being said, in my searches I haven't seen Strattera showing up in any drug tests for the standard panel of illegal drugs.

:

I work in a hospital laboratory and I have never seen Strattera come up on a tox sreen. Like what was mentioned earlier if it shows up as another drug that is a different story. If a Md orders a specific test for strattera then yes it will show up. Most facilities do not just randomly test for Strattera.

No, Strattera will certainly not cause a false positive for amphetamines, and it will not "show up" because it is not screened for! Strattera is actually an SNRI (Selective Norepinephrine Re-uptake Inhibitor), that is prescribed to treat ADHD. It is not chemically similar to either methylphenidate (Ritalin) or amphetamine (Adderall). As an aside, Ritalin does not cause a positive result for amphetamines. If, for some reason, there was any degree of cross-reactivity, and (hypothetically, of course) a positive amphetamine screen resulted, then the lab would (or should) conduct a confirmatory GC/MS test, which would then rule it out as a false positive.
