I think it's mostly pressure. They're pressured to make many decisions like drugs, sexuality, dating and things like this. Teens are hormonal so they they think low of themselves and many teens have bad self esteem all the time because of another pressure- bullying. They also have to stress over school and getting good grades and this can be a struggle among other things. When I was a teen, I hated myself and I thought I was the fattest girl alive and that nobody liked me, which neither were true. It's just the stress and pressure that pinpoints them at that point in their life.
