I am suffering from the same problem but also I feel pain in my bones...it is like my left arm is asleep all the time. I went to the doctor and got an MRI yesterday...it looks like one of my vertebras in my neck is pinching some nerves and the doctor will now give me an injection (epidural). I hope it works.

Usually it is a pinched nerve in the neck or further down the arm.
Occassionally it can be a heart attack or other vascular problem (or just lying on it the wrong way) or some other nerve problem.
If your arm is tingling and feeling numb it may be asleep just shake it until it feels better ! WARNING : This is only a suggestion this may not be the case !
There are many reasons why your left arm may be numb. You should see a doctor right as soon as you can if it doesn't get better.
