Social acceptance is the means in which people define who they are, what they are, and how they've become to be. Its like taking a test, they only way to gauge how you did it by the test score. Your placement amonst the social relm is a negotiated perception between you and others. The bottom line is people want to feel important, loved, cared for, and a part of something. Acceptance provides validation.
