i think they dont hurt as much as feel numb or weak.

that would be caused by the muscles not being used for quite a long period of time.

the other reason could be because you have strained muscles or pulled them.

or if you have bruised them too.

just flex them a bit and crack them (if you want) and after using them a bit they will probably fell better!

If it happens daily, some people do have that is it is normally body fluids which are caused due to stillness of the body during the night and should get back to normal in a few minutes after waking up (works faster if you wash your face with cold water). On the other hand, if it is an on and off happening and makes your face feel heavier and/or numb-ish you might need to see a doctor to be safe.

Because of the position of your hands when you fell asleep. You cut of or reduced the amount of blood flow to your hands.
