When glucose is used for energy, oxygen is also used, so I'm not sure I understand this question. When we exercise for awhile, we use up the easily available glucose (the glycogen stores) and have to switch to making it from protein (like organs and muscles) and fat stores (producing ketones). Exercise causes us to breathe harder to supply the extra oxygen needed to use the glucose........

See? I'm missing something. Will try again if you can explain it for me.

What are the key differences between fermentation and glycolysis in terms of their metabolic processes and end products?

Fermentation and glycolysis are both metabolic processes that break down glucose to produce energy. The key difference is that glycolysis occurs in the absence of oxygen, while fermentation occurs in the presence of oxygen. In glycolysis, glucose is broken down into pyruvate, which can then be further metabolized in the presence of oxygen. In fermentation, pyruvate is converted into different end products, such as lactic acid or ethanol, to regenerate NAD for continued glycolysis in the absence of oxygen.

Does E. coli grow better in the presence or absence of oxygen?

E. coli grows better in the presence of oxygen.

What substance are produced and consumed in photosynthesis?

Oxygen+glucose are produced, CO2+water+ the energy from the sun light are consumed

What is the process called that you get energy without oxygen?

The process is called anaerobic respiration or fermentation, where energy is produced from glucose without the presence of oxygen. It is less efficient than aerobic respiration but is utilized by some organisms to generate energy in the absence of oxygen.

Is glucose and oxygen the result of resperatation?

No, glucose and oxygen are the reactants in respiration. During respiration, glucose is broken down in the presence of oxygen to release energy, carbon dioxide, and water.

What is produced during photosynthesis and consumed during cellular respiration?

During photosynthesis, plants produce glucose and oxygen. This glucose is then consumed during cellular respiration along with oxygen, to produce energy in the form of ATP, carbon dioxide, and water.

What do you get as products after breaking down of glucose in the absence of oxygen?

Energy and lactic acid (lactate).

Differences between anaerobic respiration and aerobic respiration?

Aerobic Respiration is a respiration of a bacteria with oxygen. What metabolism requires the use of oxygen?

Aerobic metabolism requires the use of oxygen. In this process, glucose is broken down in the presence of oxygen to produce ATP, the cell's energy currency. Aerobic metabolism is more efficient than anaerobic metabolism, which occurs in the absence of oxygen.

When glucose is metabolized in the absence of oxygen one of the end products is?

What cells of your body usually go through which type of respiration?

Most cells in the body perform aerobic respiration, where glucose is broken down in the presence of oxygen to produce energy. However, during intense exercise or in the absence of oxygen, some cells can switch to anaerobic respiration, where glucose is broken down without oxygen, leading to the production of lactic acid.
