If you were holding a hot cup and your hands are red and itchy you may have burned them. If your hands are itchy and red after washing your hands you may be allergic to the soap.

One way I prevented spreading that was associated with minor poision ivy was by immediantly washing my hands as I got inside,using anti-itch gel & covering up the spot on my ark with a bandage. It worked pretty well, but you have to be very,very quick. ;P Hope I helped!!

This has happened to me for as long as I can remember. If I wear gloves, my hands will start to itch and burn. It also happens when I hold pencils, pens, etc. I can't carry plastic bags, even if they are moderately light because of it. It hurts, and it will stay for around a hour. I know that it might seem like it's normal or something, or that I need to get stronger because it might be from me not being strong enough to carry the bags and such, but like I said, simple stuff like wearing gloves does this, and it's very irritating and painful to a extent.
