Chickens and indeed poultry in general is known to be infected with Salmonella bacteria. In order to ensure people who eat chicken do not become infected with this it is necessary to cook the chicken thoroughly. It is also necessary to clean and disinfect the area and utensils used in the preparation of uncooked chicken, making sure other food dos not come into contact.
