Many people have floaters, eye doctors will not remove them as far as I know. Mine says they don't hurt anything.

To answer your question eye floaters are little oddly shaped objects that appear in your vision, often when one looks at bright light such as a blue sky. Their shapes vary greatly, but will often appear as spots, cobwebs, or randomly shaped stringy objects. For instance if you look at a bright blue sky, your pupils contract to a very small size, thus reducing the aperture (the focal length at which light passes through your eyes), which in turn makes floaters more apparent and focused.

These objects exist within the eye itself, they are not optical illusions but are entoptic phenonema. They are attributed to minute remnants of embryomic structure in the vitreous humour

, which is the clear, jelly-like material which fills the interior of your eye. Also, as you age, the vitreous humour undergoes changes which results in visible particles which can move about and individual blood cells can also escape into the vitreous humour.

When floaters are near the retina, they can cast a clear shadow, particularly when the pupil is small. That is why floaters are more visible when looking at a bright surface. For more information see the YouTube video "See inside your eye Part 1"

These are called floaters. They are generally harmless, although in rare cases, they are the result of a tear at the back of the eye. Getting an eye check up would be a wise step to take. Sometimes the vitreous in the eyes can glob together and cast shadows that are perceived as little flies in a person's vision. I have so many myself, I no longer notice them, lol.
